What is RCIA & RCIC?
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and Children (RCIC)
These programs are the process by which we catechize those who want to explore the Catholic faith, and for those who may desire to join the Church. We also have many Catholic adults join class who wish to complete their sacraments.
What does an RCIA class do?
During class we emphasize the conversion process by which we become intentional disciples of Jesus Christ, living a fully engaged Catholic life. We study Holy Scripture, the Catholic Catechism, and the Church history. We pray together and we learn many varieties of prayer. RCIA strives to foster relationship with Jesus Christ through the fullness of the Catholic Church.
Confirmed, active, adult Catholics interested in being an RCIA sponsor for our new candidates (previously baptized in a trinitarian baptism) and catechumens (those not baptized), will be given instruction on the aspects of sponsorship throughout the RCIA process.
Those Catholics who are well into their conversion process, who have an intentional relationship with Jesus Christ through the Church, are invited to inquire about providing personal witness and possibly teaching particular subjects of your strength. The responsibility would be to journey with the class through the year and also help them acclimate into the parish life.
When is Class?
