 Baptism

Baptism

Baptism preparatory classes are held the first Thursdays of every month for parents with children under the age of 6, who need to be baptized.  Classes are at 7PM, in the school library. Parents must be registered at the parish to have children baptized here. Details of all requirements are listed under the 'Baptism' tab.  The Baptismal Registration Form is under 'Baptism' near the bottom of the page.  Registration can also be completed at class.

For those older children, teens or adults completing the RCIA process, who have not previously been baptized in a Trinitarian baptism, you may be baptized, after preparation, during the Easter Vigil.  Please contact the Religious Education Office, sacredheartaberdeen@gmail.com or Fr. Barry Reuwsaat to register for RCIA.

 Confession

Reconciliation (Confession)

Reconciliation is offered to Catholics who are at or above the ‘age of reason,’ usually second grade, or older.  Our traditional children’s formation for this sacrament is in 2nd grade.   Contact the Religious Education Office, sacredheartaberdeen@gmail.com for 2nd grade preparations.  Preparation for the sacrament of Reconciliation is offered to adults, teens and older children through the RCIA program.  Please contact the Religious Education Office, sacredheartaberdeen@gmail.com or Fr. Barry Reuwsaat to register for RCIA.

 Holy Communion

Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion)

Our parish has daily Mass and four Sunday Masses for our parish to attend and receive Holy Eucharist, Saturday vigil Mass at 5pm, Sunday at 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30am.  Traditional First Eucharist preparation is in the 2nd grade.  After having received the sacrament of Reconciliation, children can receive Communion upon completion and approval of our pastor.  Parents must be registered with the parish, be attending Mass every Sunday, and attend all parent meetings.   Those preparing through the RCIA process, upon completion, will receive First Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil.

 Confirmation

Confirmation

The sacrament of Confirmation is traditionally offered to Catholics who have received Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.  Preparation is a 3 month program, separate from all other programs and education offered.  Teens and families need to be attending Mass regularly, register for Confirmation through the parish, attend all classes and upon completion of the program and an interview, the sacrament is offered in the 10th grade year.  Additionally, we offer Confirmation through the RCIA process.  Please register for RCIA if you have been away from the Church for many years, or are an adult seeking Confirmation.
